About Business Debt Review

Business Debt Review exists because the “best debt relief” category is one of the most compromised corners of the internet: most lists are paid placement wearing a lab coat, and the reader carrying a stacked merchant cash advance cannot tell the difference from the outside. We publish rankings the other way around: a fixed rubric first, scores second, and the money question answered in plain language on every page.

What we do

We evaluate business debt settlement and MCA relief companies on five weighted factors: business-debt and MCA expertise (30%), legal capability (25%), fee structure (20%), transparency and track record (15%), and speed to resolution (10%). The rubric is published in full on our methodology page, and it is applied identically to every firm, including the one that compensates us. Forty firms were evaluated for the 2026 cycle and twenty-three are ranked. The other seventeen aren’t published, because there was nothing verifiable to publish about them. Firms that fail one of our disqualifiers are a separate case, and we no longer leave those off the page: they are named and scored near the bottom of the list, with the reason stated, because an owner searching a company by name deserves to find something other than that company’s marketing. A low score is a warning, not a recommendation.

How we get paid

We are reader-supported. If you call the number on this site or submit a form, we may receive compensation, including from our #1 pick. Compensation buys placement of phone numbers and forms. It cannot buy a score, and it cannot buy a ranking. If a firm ever beats our top pick on the five factors, the ranking changes. The full disclosure appears in the footer of every page.

What we verify

BBB profiles and complaint patterns, Trustpilot and Google review distributions, CFPB and FTC actions, published fee schedules and state coverage, and industry accreditations. Company-reported figures are cited as claims, not facts, and third-party data outweighs them. Listings are re-verified monthly.

Corrections

If we got a number, a fact, or a characterization wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Corrections get priority over everything else we publish. Use the contact page.

What we are not

We are not a law firm, a lender, or a debt settlement company. Nothing on this site is legal, tax, or financial advice. Settlement outcomes vary, and past results do not guarantee yours.
