CuraDebt review.
Business + tax debt settlement
The pick when MCA trouble comes with a tax problem attached, one of the few firms that negotiates business debt and IRS balances.
Our verdict
Businesses that default on merchant cash advances almost always develop a second problem on the way down: they stop making estimated tax payments. Then the IRS notice arrives on top of the funder’s lawyer’s letter. CuraDebt is the rare accredited firm built for exactly that combination, it negotiates business debt and works with the IRS and state revenue offices on payment plans and penalty mitigation.
The track record is real: operating since 2001, IAPDA-accredited counselors, a 4.8-star profile across Trustpilot and Google, and remarkably few complaints for the volume. Fee structure is the conventional percentage-of-enrolled-debt model, around 20%.
Two honest limits. First, geography: settlement isn’t offered in about twenty states, so check yours before you get attached. Second, tempo: a 36–48 month program is fine for tax debt, but daily ACH debits don’t wait three years. If the MCA is the emergency and the taxes are the aftermath, sequence accordingly: stop the bleeding with a specialist first.
What we like
- One of the few accredited firms handling federal and state tax debt alongside business debt
- In business since 2001; IAPDA-accredited counselors
- Excellent review profile with a low complaint count
- Free counseling session before any commitment
What gave us pause
- Debt settlement not offered in roughly 20 states
- 36–48 month programs; not built for the speed an MCA crisis demands
- Tax specialization, not MCA specialization: no COJ/UCC litigation muscle
Who it’s for
- Business debt tangled with IRS or state tax balances
- Owners who want one firm for both problems
- Smaller balances, the $5K minimum is the lowest on this list
Who should look elsewhere
- Residents of the ~20 excluded states
- MCA emergencies that need week-scale action
